Today’s book was written by Elaine Fox. This book was OK, but had a little too many lies and not enough honesty. I take issue with that–especially when it’s not funny-ha-ha lies. This book was definitely a more serious Fox book.
Just finished reading this book by Jennifer Crusie. This book had a little more meat to it than previous Crusie books, but it was a great read nonetheless. The story followed Quinn McKenzie and Nick Ziegler. Quinn has recently decided to break up with her boyfriend, Bill, who happens to be the town hero and [...]
Just finished reading this book by Susan Donovan. I think this was my favorite book by Donovan that I’ve read (I think I’ve actually read all of her published books). The main character, Quinn, was definitely my favorite of her male characters. He was the real deal, although I have to say I think he [...]
Today’s book was written by Elaine Fox. This was a fun little romp involving a former swimsuit model, a restaurant, the search for a fair copy of the Declaration of Independence, and a funny bartender named Steve. Oh, and did I mention a cat named Cheeto? I love Fox’s writing style. Clearly, this women has “been [...]
Just finished reading this book by Rachel Gibson. This book was good, but definitely not my favorite by Gibson. This book took place in the Bahamas on a “commandeered” yacht. Max Zamora is trying to outrun some drug smugglers who are trying to kill him. During his escape, he realizes that he is not alone on [...]
Just finished reading this book by Jennifer Crusie. This book was a hoot! I love Crusie’s style and her characters are always a lot of fun. This book was about Minerva Dobbs and Calvin Morrissey. She’s a no-nonsense actuary, who’s not interested in gambling or taking chances. The first time we meet her, she’s being [...]
Today’s book was written by Kristan Higgins. This was Higgins’s first book, but I actually liked this one better than the one I read first (Catch of the Day). This book followed Millie Barnes, a doctor returning to her hometown in Cape Cod. Her plan, 15 years in the making, involves making Joe Carpenter love her. [...]
Just finished reading this book by Kristan Higgins. This was Higgins’s second book and one that I really enjoyed. The story follows Maggie Beaumont in a charming little town in Maine. Maggie has taken over her grandfather’s diner and made it into the hub of her small town. But living in a small town often means [...]
I finished this book by Elaine Fox at exactly the same moment my lunch break ended today, and man, it was perfect timing. This book was definitely one of my favorites by Fox, and quite possibly a few other authors at this juncture. I really can’t say there was one thing that “made” this book [...]
I finished this book by Jennifer Weiner early this morning. This book was fantastic. This is the second book that I’ve read by Weiner and it was so much better than first one–although it was written earlier in her career. Cannie Shapiro is a larger woman. Her former boyfriend, Bruce, and her have decided to take [...]
